The story is unchanged — a faithful blend of Gold, Silver and Crystal with the depth of HeartGold and SoulSilver, covering the full Johto journey and a complete Kanto postgame. What the rebuild changes is everything underneath: the Pokégear now runs a full radio system with Crystal-style trainer rematches, Match Calls, Buena's Password and Hoenn Sound that increases the chance of encountering Hoenn Pokémon on Kanto routes. All 92 HGSS TMs replace the original Emerald list, with locations adjusted throughout. Hidden ground items are back, and the Itemfinder is available in Ecruteak. A built-in Randomizer and Nuzlocke Mode give you complete control over how you play.
