What if Pokémon had too many types? That’s exactly the question Kobazco, Cannons, and MarinePez set out to answer in this officially commissioned ROM hack of Pokémon Emerald, created for YouTuber Alpharad. The result is one of the most creative and chaotic Pokémon experiences ever made — a full Emerald playthrough rebuilt around 62 types, triple-typing, and a completely reimagined type chart.

Where the original game has 18 types, Too Many Types adds 44 more — including Gamer, Smash, Furry, Magic, and dozens of others — each with their own interactions, strengths, and weaknesses. Pokémon can now have up to three types simultaneously, creating over 230,000 possible type combinations. Two entirely new type mechanics round out the system: the Reverse type inverts all type effectiveness, and the Type type doubles every modifier it touches.

This is a custom-made cartridge ready to play straight out of the box.
